• First Aid
A useful and lifesaving skill, First Aid skills are important to have. With these skills, you have the ability to give first aid treatment to yourself, your friends and even your own family members. You will be in a position to help others and maybe even save a life.
• Field Trips
Getting out of town and seeing the different cultural and educational opportunities that are nearby can help to open a child's mind to all of the possibilities the world has to offer. For too many children, especially those who are not financially privileged, the world can seem small, relegated only to their neighborhood. Helping children to learn the immensity of the world around them and al that God has provided can give them the strength to avoid gangs and to see their problems in a larger context, making decisions easier.
• Leadership Development
The Leadership Development curriculum will equip children with the necessary skills and provide practice to help them develop their leadership potential. Like the rest of the Core program, leadership skills will prove to be useful to them in their time spent in the Brigade, as well as later on in life.
• Life Skills
The Life Skills curriculum is Core because it looks at issues that children will surely encounter as they grow up and even later in life as an adult. That is why professional developers were engaged to design the contents and program of this badge. Life issues like stress management, peer pressure, life gifts and personality are discussed to help and guide them.
